Here are some of the most frequently asked questions I get asked:

I’m a beginner – what type of guitar do I need, and where do I get it?

Compared to steel string guitars, the classical nylon string guitar is far and away the most forgiving instrument for a beginner. They are cheap to buy, mellow sounding, keep in tune, soft on the fingertips and the wide necks that give plenty of room for your fingers. If your an average 6 year old or below you’ll be fine with a half-size. Average 7-9 year olds will be fine with a three-quarters, while a 10 year old and upwards will be fine for a full size. If you are a teen or above with smallish hands (like me) then you might be more comfortable with a 3/4. like all things there’s only one way of finding out..try both (in a music shop or buy second hand), you’ll get a gut feeling with what feels comfortable in your hands and as it sits on your lap.
